Sufra. Halaal. Local. Direct.

Piloting in Sandton

Order from the halaal places you already trust.

Same prices as the counter, no app mark-up. The delivery fee is on the screen before you pay, and all of it goes to the rider who brings your food.

And when you’re somewhere new, Sufra tells you which places are certified, by whom, and when we last checked.

Counter prices.

The menu online is the menu on the wall. If a burger is R85 at the till, it’s R85 on Sufra.

Riders keep the fee.

The delivery charge you see at checkout goes to the person on the bike. We don’t take a cut of it.

Halaal, with the paperwork.

Every listing shows who certified it and when we last checked. No certificate, we say so.

How an order works

Three steps, nothing hidden. Most orders inside the pilot area arrive within the hour.

  1. Pick a place and order on the web

No app to download for ordering. Choose collect or deliver, pick a time, and pay by card or instant EFT. The delivery fee is shown before you tap pay.

  2. The kitchen confirms, a rider takes it

You get a WhatsApp when the order is accepted and when it leaves. If no rider is free for your time, the shop tells you before they cook, not after.

  3. It arrives. Something wrong? Tell us.

Message the shop first; if it isn’t sorted, email support@sufra.co.za and a person answers. Late or missing delivery, the fee comes back to you.

Live now

A halaal directory that shows its working.

Over 1,600 restaurants, butchers, bakeries and caterers across South Africa, taken from the SANHA and NIHT registers. Each one shows the body that certified it, what the certificate covers and the date we last looked.

Sufra reports certification. It doesn’t grant it.

Certified

A named body lists this place, and we checked that register on the date shown.

Self-reported

The place told us it’s halaal, or its certificate has expired. We haven’t seen a current one, and we say so.

Not yet verified

Listed from a tip or a public source. Nobody has confirmed anything yet. The owner can claim it.

For restaurant owners

Keep what the big apps take.

You know the number on your statement every month. Sufra doesn’t take a percentage of your food. You list at your own prices, customers pay you directly, and the riders are people who already know your door.

  • Your own ordering page in your own colours, with your menu entered once.
  • Money lands in your own PayFast account with every order.
  • You see who your customers are. They’re yours, not ours.
  • Free during the pilot. After that, a small flat amount we agree with you up front.

For riders

The delivery fee is yours. All of it.

Short trips inside one area, busy lunch shifts, paid per drop with nothing taken off. You bring your own bike and licence; we bring the orders and an insulated bag.
